PSC Hearing

Forest Residents Are Going To Madison
Cost of the Bus each day is $15.00/person
Madison Wisconsin August 14th & 15th – At the Public Service Commission of the state of Wisconsin

All Forest residents are strongly encouraged to attend these historical and unprecedented state hearings which will decide the future for our children and grandchildren. There is nothing more important that a resident of Forest can do on these two days of historical significance for the Town’s future than making this trip to show support for your town.

Your Presence will make the difference, you have a choice and a responsibility to be with your neighbors on these monumentally important days. Your attendance shows the three commissioners how important their votes are. Lives will be altered by their decision.

“You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today.”

Abraham Lincoln

On August 14th & 15th 2013 The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin will conduct hearings on Highland Wind Farm, LLCs application for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity To Construct a 102.5 Mega Watt Electric Generation Facility with wind Turbines being located in Forest and related equipment to be located in Cylon.

The Town of Forest has intervened in this project which means it is a party to the official Public Service Commission proceedings. The Town of Forest through its town board is opposed to this project due to a number of health and safety reasons. Of concern is that during the 2012 hearings, three families from Shirley, Wisconsin testified under oath in front of the Public Service Commission that they have abandoned their primary residences due to the effects that they believe are caused by the Shirley Wind Farm which is an eight turbine wind farm and was developed by Highland Wind Farm, LLC. Highland no longer owns the Shirley wind farm.

The Town estimates that the bus transportation will leave the Forest Town Hall at 4:00 AM on each day and return to Forest between 9:00 and 10:30 PM each day. Residents may attend one day or both days and it is possible that the hearings which will include technical experts and most likely contain a public hearing where residents can give their public comments will go beyond the two days. Additional details including minimal costs can be obtained by emailing town clerk Marilyn Benson at foresttownclerk@gmail.com or town chairman Jaime Junker at jaime.forestgov@gmail.com.

THIS IS NOT THE TIME THAT ANY FOREST RESIDENT CAN AFFORD TO BE A SPECTATOR. YOU AND YOUR FAMILY MATTER. YOUR PRESENCE WILL MAKE THE DIFFERENCE.

The price of greatness is responsibility
